Seeking Gods FACE
Seeking God…to impart zealous passion for Him
It seems a bit strange that God s eeks seekers. We sometimes talk about seeking God as if this venture is something we initiate. Truth is, God initiates both worship and s eeking. He searches for people who are hungry for Him. The Holy Spirit moves on hearts to draw near to the Lord. As we respond to that tugging of God, we will be swept into His presence. It is in His presence with a hungry and obedient heart that a zealous passion for God will be sparked.
To encourage seeking God, the Lord gives this promise: “He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his Savior…” The blessing described as “vindication” is from a root word that forms the name Melchizedek---“king of righteousness”. God grants us both a righteous standing before Him and the transformational righteousness that we receive by hanging around God.
